NO to Coal Ash

Over 2000 Cumberland County registered VOTERS have signed petitions against the county becoming a dump for TVA coal ash (or any other material).

Are you listening Commissioners?  The operative word is:  voters.

  1. We need to vote out every commissioner that voted for this, but that may be too late, we have to be proactive and stop this, don't stop just because they voted for it. We cannot let the promise of a few jobs pollute out county, this will affect our water table I don't know how anyone can willingly let someone pollute your own back yard.

  2. The vote doesn't say much for the intelligence nor the foresight of some Cumberland County Commissioners.

All seats are up for re-election next year. Applications are available on January 2, 2010. Last date for filing is April 1, 2010 at 12 p.m.

I have a feeling the current group of incumbents that supported this ill-advised project will have some substantial competition.
